Blinky Bill Park or

Blinky Bills bush picnic park

The author of Blinky Bill – Dorothy Wall - wrote ‘Blinky Bill Grows Up’ while she was resident in Warrimoo.

More information on Dorothy Wall can be found in the Library section of this web page

  • It provides recognition to Dorothy Wall and the classic Australian story series.
  • It gives a similar theme to the Magic Pudding named Streets in Faulconbridge and Norman Lindsay.
  • Can make the park sound like a children’s park.

Bobo Cameron Park

Suggested to commemorate the local resident Bobo Cameron.

  • Ian (Bobo) Cameron is considered worthy of commemoration because he lived in Warrimoo for over 43 years and received an order of Australia Medal from the Queen, and was greatly involved in the St John’s Ambulance Service.

Datman Park

Suggested to commemorate the historically local family Datman.

  • The Datman family owned & ran the local dairy where Florabella Primary School is now located.

Florabella Park

References Florabella Street and Florabella Pass.

  • Florabella Pass is a significant bush walking track in Warrimoo.

Glider Park

References the large sculpture of a glider in the park.

  • The possum sculpture is of a glider which is an endangered species that occurs locally and likes large old trees such as occur in the park.

Kai Park

Suggested to commemorate a local child who died.

  • Local Family reference.

‘Moo’ Park

Short for Warrimoo Park.

  • Makes reference to the suburb of Warrimoo.
  • Already in use.

Possum Park

or

Possum Hollow Park

References the large sculpture of a glider (a type of possum) in the park.

  • It fits in with the theme of the large sculpture at the front of the park.
  • It makes reference to the Blue Mountains wildlife.  There are possums within the park.
  • It gives the park a feel of a children’s place.

South Warrimoo Community Park

Denotes community ownership.

  • Makes reference to the community nature of the park.
  • Avoids giving the message that the park is for young children only.

South Warrimoo Neighborhood Park
